What If It Were Simple?

Connection Capacity Community

What if it were that simple? What if we acknowledged that a few simple insights and a couple of practises done consistently could completely shift us. Not as a transformation or a habit but as a life practise.

What if it were that simple?

It would not mean that life would be sorted because there is no such thing but there would be a sustained experience of a shift.

The ocean is rough one day and calm the next. That is the natural ebb and flow. We all understand that.

Life is the same.

That is one of the key insights “Life is also difficult because it is both epic and challenging”

What if we learned the power of curiosity, of presence and of stopping?

What if we learned how to hold?

What if we learned to connect with a way of being that would enable us to enter situations practising a state of non-judgement.

What if we learned to cultivate internally, drawing on our practices to cultivate capacity (resilience) and acceptance (love).

How would that be?

We start with the simple practise of meditation. Meditating twice a day for 20 minutes each time.

Creating that practise takes something. Sustaining it takes even more. We call this practise a pillar practise, a big rock, an absolute priority and an oxygen mask.

In order to sustain this meditation practise we must shift our priorities and our perspective.

We learn that we can make time. We learn that it is not a selfish activity. And we learn about ourselves, each and every time that we sit.

We learn to come back to breath, to recalibrate, to rest, to observe our thoughts, to practise curiosity, to be unreasonable, to go beyond our feelings, to be with ourselves, to be in silence, to observe sensation, to be present, to allow, to let go, to let insights come, to be present, to be open, to listen, to observe, to be our word………and on it goes.

That is the first pillar and is the practise of connection to and with self.

What if the key was capacity? The ability to broaden our perspective, to drop our judgment and opinions? What if we could be with discomfort, real discomfort, without fighting or resisting it, feeling that it is unfair or is meant to be a different way?

And what if we could learn to handle all of life’s ebbs and flows at the same time, no matter how many different angles and places they come to us from?

And that is why for our capacity and love are one in the same thing because they are both states of acceptance.

And then there is community. The experience of sharing, being seen, being heard, being supported and being held accountable by others and doing the same for them.

And that is why our second pillar is the practise of circle. Sitting in circle with others and practising sharing deeply, authentically and vulnerably.

In so doing, we fulfil the three tenets of the Sit – connection, capacity and community.

This incredibly powerful and simple concept and practise that creates the Shift.

And the shift no longer exists as a theory. It becomes a very simple practise that is embedded and sustained such that the power of it compounds into all areas of life.

And never confuse simple and simplistic because while this is simple it is worlds away from being simplistic.

And that is why we created the practise. A framework that enables and empowers the creation of a life that works, a life rhythm, and wholesome prioritisation that all lead to the most important place of all………………a life in integrity.

Aho
